Emily Duke Hargan founded Bourbon and Politics in 2020. She is a devoted wife and mom to two teenage boys. Well-traveled in Republican circles for over 20 years, she offers unique insights into the life, culture and politics in Washington, DC.

While not writing, doing laundry or praying Hail Marys for her children, Emily works full-time in government affairs and political fundraising. She was born and raised in North Carolina, loves ACC basketball, Cheerwine, hush puppies, and taking long walks in the moonlight (ok, that one is a joke). She is a graduate of the University of Virginia where she learned to appreciate the good stuff in life — bourbon.
